Queralt Lahoz
Queralt Lahoz is undoubtedly one of the Spanish musical sensations of recent years, and now also beyond its borders. Recently awarded with one of the prestigious Music Moves Europe Awards, granted by the European Union, she is one of the artists with more present and future of the entire national scene, leading one of the most groundbreaking and attractive musical proposals of the moment. Soul, hip hop, and dancehall, crossed by Latin, roots, and urban sounds, dialogue gracefully with naturalness on an aura of coplas and boleros that emerge spontaneously from her flamenco origins and her inner landscapes.
2023 has been the year of her consecration as well as taking risks and opening new creative stages for an artist and a project whose limit is high in the sky. In January, while receiving the Music Moves Europe 2023 award, she performed at the ESNS (Eurosonic Noorderslag) festival before international music industry professionals; and a few days later, she took part in the gala for the Gaudí Awards of the Catalan Film Academy, performing ‘Canción del fuego fatuo’ by Manuel de Falla alongside the Franz Schubert Philharmonia orchestra conducted by Tomàs Grau. At the end of February, it was time to close the chapter marked by Pureza, with two end-of-tour concerts in Madrid and Barcelona where all tickets were sold; and from that moment on, a new horizon opened up for Queralt Lahoz: concerts at Vive Latino in Mexico City, the world’s most important Latin music event, in London at the International Live Music Conference, and a new tour in our country including Girando Por Salas (GPS) and performances at some of the main national festivals: Tomavistas, Vida Festival, Son Rías Baixas, BBK Live, or the Low Festival, among others. She also crossed borders, reaching some internationally renowned festivals such as SummerStage (NY), Electric Castle (Romania), Renc’Arts de Pornichet (France), Sziget (Budapest), Musiques en Été (Geneva), or Reeperbahn (Germany), where she is presenting her new material.
