With their self-titled debut album, TANXUGUEIRAS, released in 2018, the trio embarked on a journey that took them to over 120 stages around the world in just three years, accompanied only by their tambourines. In 2019 came Contrapunto, an album that sparked a revolution in Galician music with its reinterpretation of traditional songs, brimming with diverse arrangements and harmonies.
In 2021, Sabela Maneiro, Aida Tarrío, and Olaia Maneiro began to explore, with the collaboration of producer Iago Pico, the fusion of tradition and the power of their voices with urban and modern sounds, eventually becoming what they are today: one of the most innovative, authentic, and surprising acts in the country.
#Tanxugueiras won the 2023 Alternative Revelation Artist award at the Odeón Awards. Organized by AGEDI (the Intellectual Property Rights Entity representing the country’s record producers), these awards recognize the most successful recordings by Spanish artists in 2022 in terms of sales. They also won two MIN Awards (Independent Music Awards), for Best Roots Music Album and Best Album in Galician; and finally, the Galician Critics’ Award.
2024 was a prolific year for the group, with major concerts throughout Spain and the start of a tour in France, as well as significant recorded and live collaborations with artists such as Andrés Suárez, Rayden, Juancho Marqués, Hard GZ, Shinova, and Celtas Cortos, which led them to perform in historic venues like the Movistar Arena, the Palacio de Vistalegre, and La Riviera. One of the group’s great milestones was their participation in La Velada del Año, an event organized by the renowned streaming platform Ibai, where they brought music in Galician for the first time to a packed Santiago Bernabéu stadium and to an audience of millions of people who followed it live.
