Chico Pérez
Chico Pérez is one of the most recognized pianists and composers of the moment in our country and has been a sensation for critics and audiences in a multitude of scenarios.
He recently carried out the absolute premiere of his new show “Con Acento XL” at the Seville Flamenco Biennial. He has taken his music on several occasions to the Madrid International Jazz Festival, Luxembourg Jazz Festival, San Sebastian Jazzaldía International Festival, Royal Alcázar of Seville, Flamencos y Mestizos Festival, Cajasol Flamenco Thursdays, MADRID International Sacred Art Festival, Cartagena Jazz Festival, Sephardic Museum of Toledo and has been commissioned to offer the Inaugural Concert of the Autumn Festival with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Spain.
He has three published albums: “Gruserías”, “Continente 27” and “La Vida en una Gota” (Original Soundtrack) which have been nominated on both occasions in the Music Awards in the category of “Best Flamenco Album” and named by the newspaper El País as one of the best flamenco albums of the year, in addition to being pre-selected in the Latin Grammy Awards candidacy. He has collaborations with artists such as Arcángel, Manuel Lombo, Juanito Makandé, Miguel Poveda, Miron Rafajlovic, Tu Otra Bonita, Antonio Serrano, etc. In addition, during concert tours he has shared a bill with artists such as Israel Fernández, Chucho Valdés, Pat Metheny, Arcángel, Diego Amador, Farruquito, Tomatito, Ron Carter, Rocío Márquez, Rafael Riqueni, Antonio Canales, Sara Baras, Dorantes, etc…
A music whose root is flamenco but in which at times we will hear jazz, blues or classical music, which leads him to excite and surprise the public that listens to it far from labels. A unique style: the piano and the music of Chico Pérez.
